A system and method for providing a first user with recommendations for media assets for inclusion in a playlist for a second user based on the viewing activity of the second user. These systems and methods receive an indifferent expression from a second user to a media asset included in a playlist for the second user and associate with the second user based on the indifferent expression. The updated user profile is updated and a recommendation for another media asset is determined based on the updated user profile associated with the second user. The system and method provide recommendations to the first user. By recommending media assets that are least likely to be opposed by the second user, these systems and methods reduce the frequency of negative requests for media assets from the second user.
