The present invention concerns a pharmaceutical composition containing the thyroid hormone L-Thyroxin and a selenium compound in the weight ratio of 2:1 to 1:2 for use as a medicine. The invention also concerns the use of composition in the treatment of various thyroid diseases, the reduction of adverse reactions resulting from the administration of thyroid hormones and the use in suppression and substitution therapy in thyroid alignment.
