Intraocular lens material with high refractive index and high Abbe number

A hydrophobic acrylic material having a high refractive index is disclosed. These materials have both a high refractive index and a high Abbe's number. This combination means that this material has a low refractive index dispersion, making it particularly suitable for use as an intraocular lens material. The material is also suitable for use in other implantable ophthalmic devices such as keratoprosthesis, corneal rings, corneal implants and corneal inlays.
