PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent that improves elasticity of skin, sinew or blood vessel by accelerating synthesis of fibrous-structure protein being an extracellular matrix of biological tissue.SOLUTION: An agent for maintaining or increasing the content of fibrous-structure protein being an extracellular matrix of biological tissue contains GABA as an active ingredient. In the agent, the fibrous-structure protein consists of one or more selected from elastin, collagen, fibrillin-1, fibrillin-2, and fibrin-5. The agent is an edible cosmetic agent. The content of the fibrous-structure protein is maintained or increased by accelerating fibrous-structure protein synthesis of the biological tissue, and/or by suppressing the increase of the content of protein-decomposing enzyme having decomposing action of the extracellular matrix.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
