Provided are a diagnosis device for diagnosing the state of a rotary machine system, a power conversion device, the rotary machine system, and a diagnosis method for the rotary machine system. This rotary machine system is configured such that a rotary machine, a cable, a power conversion device, and a power source are electrically connected. The power conversion device is provided with a current sensor that is for measuring a current flowing through a connection path between the rotary machine and another device, and a control unit that adjusts a switching condition on the basis of an output from the current sensor. The diagnosis device and the diagnosis method are for diagnosing the state of the rotary machine system without additional installation of a current sensor. This diagnosis device for the rotary machine system is characterized by being provided with a diagnosis unit that diagnoses the state of the rotary machine system on the basis of output from the current sensor.
