PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional shape search method and a three-dimensional shape search system that embodies a high-precision search even from an incomplete three-dimensional body.SOLUTION: A three-dimensional shape search method according to the present invention comprises: using a part or the whole of a three-dimensional shape model as a search query for a three-dimensional shape database; converting a three-dimensional object into a dot group as preprocessing; extracting a partial shape through multi-viewpoint rendering; performing attitude normalization of the partial shape as feature extraction so as to find a first feature vector using a normal histogram from multiple viewpoints; converting the three-dimensional object into a point group for the search query; extracting a partial shape through multi-viewpoint rendering; performing attitude normalization of the partial shape as feature extraction so as to find a second feature vector using the normal histogram from multiple viewpoints; and finding a difference between the first feature vector and the second feature vector during a search so as to make a choice according to similarity represented by a value of the difference.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
