A sleeping bag comprises an outer layer having apertures Fig 10a, 65 therein through which bedbugs or mites may pass and an impermeable inner layer that the bugs may not pass through. Between the layers a poisonous agent 70 is spread. This may be a silica gel dust or diatomaceous earth. A perforated or mesh hood may be located adjacent the head of the bag user and may be stiffened to keep the mesh away from the head. The sleeping bag may be placed onto the surface of a bed and a user may enter the bag. The warmth of the wearers body may be used to entice the bedbug into the void between the inner and outer layer.
