An identity screening method, a handheld device, a background server and a system. The method comprises that: the handheld device obtains identity information of a user (S110), and uploads the obtained identity information to the background server; and then receives and displays an identity screening result determined by the background server on the basis of the identity information (S120). By means of collecting and screening the identity information of the user in an intelligent manner, the method saves a lot of manpower and time, especially when preventing the transmission and spread of diseases. Such an intelligent method improves the efficiency with which the identity of a user is screened while reducing the amount of direct contact between users and ensuring the safety of users.
