This invention relates to an inert mixture comprising: a. from 45% to 99% by weight, with respect to the total weight of the inert mixture, of at least one polyether selected from the group consisting of polyethylene glycol (PEG), and m ethoxy polyethylene glycol (mPEG); and b. from 1 to 16% by weight, with respect to the total weight of the inert mixture, of at least one hydroxylated compound selected from the group consisting of: trimethylolpropane, menthol, neopentyl alcohol, and guaiacol. and the use thereof to accumulate thermal energy.
