Provided is a method for measuring glycated hemoglobin in a sample containing abnormal hemoglobin, said method involving generating hydrogen peroxide by reacting, in the presence of at least one type of anionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of sulfonic acid-based anionic surfactants and polyoxyethylene alkyl ether acetic acids, glycated hemoglobin in a sample containing abnormal hemoglobin with an enzyme that catalyzes a reaction that generates hydrogen peroxide by oxidizing the glycated hemoglobin, and measuring the generated hydrogen peroxide.
