This laminate body comprises a thin film containing ceria- and/or zirconia-containing nanoparticles formed on a substrate, wherein the nanoparticles have an orientation on at least one plane selected from the group consisting of (100) plane, (110) plane, and (111) plane, and the degree of the orientation calculated from the Lotgering factor is 70% or more. The laminate body controls the generation, on the substrate surface, of a crystalline deposition layer of nanoparticles that contain ceria and zirconia and further provides orientation to the layer to allow for prioritization for selective crystalline plane in accordance with the substrate.
