Visual stimulation device to improve the quality of sleep

This device is used to influence brain activity by means of visual stimulation. It also emits flickering red light that can be perceived through closed eyelids. The frequency spectrum of the flickering mimics the frequency spectrum of electrical brain activity as it occurs in humans during various phases of sleep and other, sleep-related states of consciousness. Using the effect of the frequency-sequence reaction, the user's brain is stimulated to pass into this state of consciousness or to linger in it. The device provides a selection of stimulation programs with which the user can guide himself through sequences of such states of consciousness how they correspond, for example, to an ideal night's sleep, power nap or afternoon nap. In this way, falling asleep and staying asleep can be promoted and the composition of the sheep (from light, deep and dream sleep phases) can be optimized. An alarm function synchronized with the stimulation programs and a night light function are integrated. Since red light is used, the user is only minimally awakened in the event of sleep interruptions. The operation is also designed in such a way that it can be done drowsy and with closed or half-open eyes.
