The present invention provides systems and methods of using the same for characterizing a biological sample by analyzing fluorescence emission from the biological sample upon excitation. The system includes a laser source, a condensing fiber, a demultiplexer, and an optical delay device. All documents cited herein are incorporated by reference as if set forth in their entirety.
