A solar cell may include a substrate and a semiconductor region disposed within or over the substrate. The solar cell may also include conductive contacts disposed on the semiconductor region, wherein the conductive contacts include mechanically deformed conductive particles. A method of manufacturing a solar cell may include depositing metal particles and mechanically deforming the metal particles. The method may also include forming a conductive contact comprising mechanically modified metal particles for a solar cell.
