FIELD: biotechnology.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and constitutes a pMF230-GSMT/DMT plasmid determining betaine synthesis. The plasmid includes XbaI/HindIII - a pMF230 plasmid fragment and a DNA fragment with the size of 1,686 base pairs (bps), containing a chimeric sequence consisting of the encoding part of the ApGSMT and ApDMT genes interfused using a sequence encoding a flexible peptide linker. Also proposed is a recombinant strain of P. denitrificans/pMF230-GSMT/DMT, transformed by the described plasmid, suitable for betaine production.;EFFECT: invention provides a possibility of producing betaine without adding precursors to the nutrient medium and can be used in the biotechnological industry to increase the resistance of recombinant bacterial strains to adverse abiotic factors, as well as to activate the synthesis of valuable metabolites, e.g., cobalamin.;2 cl, 1 dwg, 3 ex
