Disclosed are a resonant converter topology having a wide output voltage range and a control method therefor. The topology comprises an input filter capacitor, three switching bridge arms consisting of six switching transistors, two resonant branches, two full-bridge rectifier circuits, and an output filter capacitor. The control method comprises performing frequency conversion control on a resonant converter, and controlling mode switching in response to operating conditions requiring different output voltages. The method specifically comprises: in an operating condition requiring a small output voltage gain, turning off all switching transistors of a middle bridge arm, and performing frequency conversion on bridge arms at two sides to control a resonant converter; and in an operating condition requiring a large output voltage gain, simultaneously performing frequency conversion on the three bridge arms to control the resonant converter. In the invention, a voltage gain range of a resonant converter is widened by controlling mode switching.
