The method comprises the following steps: step 1, drawing longitudinal centerlines FaFb, transverse centerlines P1S1, and transverse axis centerlines P2S2 of larboard and starboard stern propeller bases, and making sample punching marks; step 2, determining center points Oa of larboard and starboard stern propeller shafts; step 3, determining a larboard stern propeller base plane position, comprising: determining a larboard stern propeller horizontal shaft longitudinal positioning reference line NM, a larboard stern propeller base surface longitudinal position Fa-Fb, and a larboard stern propeller base surface transverse position P2-S2; and step 4, repeating the step 3, and determining a starboard stern propeller base plane position. By adopting the above line drawing method, a stern propeller base plane position can be accurately determined, accurate data is provided for the positioning and processing of a base, and the success rate of subsequent propulsion device mounting is increased.
