This disclosure concerns several host materials, comprising a first host material comprising a compound represented by formula 1 and at least one second host material comprising a compound represented by formula 2 and an organic electroluminescent device comprising it. By incorporating the specific combination of the compound as host material, an organic electroluminescent device with low driver voltage and/or high light output and/or long service life can be provided compared to a conventional organic electroluminescent device.
