The onset risk assessment device (100) is a histidine, phenylalanine, leucine, isoleucine, methionine, threonine, glycine, glutamine, lysine, asparagine, homocysteine, cystathionine, S-adenosylmethionine and S-adenosyl in the blood to be evaluated. It comprises an evaluation unit (1) that evaluates the risk of developing dementia in the evaluation target based on the concentration of an amino acid containing at least one selected from the group consisting of homocysteine.
