The present invention relates to a method for the development of personalised targeted anticancer therapies involving aptamers and the systemic modelling of an individual in microfluidic devices. In one embodiment, the invention provides methods for the development of targeted therapies, in which target cancer cells are maintained in coculture with non-target, noncancerous cells using microfluidic devices modularly arranged within closed systems for the development of aptamers. In another embodiment, the invention provides a method for the development of targeted therapies, in which target cells are maintained in coculture with non-target cells using microfluidic devices modularly arranged within closed systems. In this regard, the invention provides for the development of aptamers for the target of interest in homeostatic equilibrium with the components of the fluid conditioned by cocultivation with the non-target cells.
