To provide a device with which it is possible, when using a flowmeter such as an oxygen flowmeter, to make it as being equipped with a monitoring function only when necessary.SOLUTION: A flowmeter monitoring device 10 is a device for monitoring the flow rate of a float type flowmeter 20, comprising: at least one critical value setting unit 3 for setting a flow rate range; a control unit 5 for controlling the display of a positional relationship between the flow rate range set by the critical value setting unit 3 and a float 21; and a display unit 8 for displaying the positional relationship under control of the control unit 5. The critical value setting unit 3 is provided with at least one light-emitting unit 1 and at least one light-receiving unit 2 that corresponds to the foregoing (light-emitting/receiving unit 12), the light-emitting unit 1 and the light-receiving unit 2 of the light-emitting/receiving unit 12 being arranged facing each other across a tube 23 of the flowmeter 20 when this device 10 is in use.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
