The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a polymerizable liquid crystal compound which is used in formation of an optically anisotropic membrane having excellent reverse wavelength dispersibility and excellent moist heat durability; a polymerizable liquid crystal composition; an optically anisotropic membrane; an optical film; a polarizing plate; and an image display device. The polymerizable liquid crystal compound according to the present invention is represented by formula (1), wherein a group represented by Ar in formula (1) has a ClogP value of not less than 4.3 but less than 7.0.
