A method of mounting an insulating panel 1 to a building wall 2 onto which a façade system is mounted, comprising attaching at least one retainer to the building wall and inserting a pointed tongue 11 attached to the retainer into the insulating panel, the method including pressing the panel against the wall of the building, preferably by using a further retainer attached to a furring strip of the façade system (See Fig. 10). Also claimed is a set of apparatus including an internal retainer (A, Figs. 1,2) having an L-shaped support strip comprising slots for receiving pointed tongues or spikes 11 and an external retainer (B, Figs. 3,4) having a clamping element 14 with spikes for engaging the surface of an insulating panel, the element slideably engaged with an outrigger 15 for attachment to a furring element of a ventilated facade.
