Integrated process to produce ethylene from propylene

Provided herein are methods and systems for improving the production of ethylene and MTBE from propylene using an integrated metathesis and cracking process. Further, at least partially metathesizing propylene in the presence of a metathesis catalyst in a reactor to produce ethylene and butenes, and at least partially cracking butenes using a cracking catalyst located downstream of the metathesis catalyst in the same reactor to further produce ethylene; A method for producing ethylene and further producing MTBE is disclosed.
