A block processing method and apparatus, a data query method and apparatus based on a blockchain, a computer device, and a storage medium, which relate to the technical field of blockchains. The block processing method comprises: in response to generation of any new block, obtaining a time interval stored in a root block of a target blockchain; if a transaction occurrence time of a transaction contained in the new block is within the time interval, traversing a first target number of sub-chains connected to the root block, and determining a sub-chain that satisfies a target condition to be a target sub-chain; and in response to the new block passing consensus, adding the new block to the target sub-chain of the target blockchain. By applying the methods and apparatuses, the computer device, and the storage medium, blocks are stored on a blockchain in accordance with the consensus passing time of the blocks without waiting for completion of consensus of the previously generated blocks, the blockchain is composed of a plurality of sub-chains, and the plurality of sub-chains can add the blocks at the same time, so that the efficiency of adding the blocks is improved, the blocks can be chained in time, and normal operation of a blockchain system is ensured.
