Disclosed is a method and a monitor device for a medical visualisation system comprising a visualisation device having an image sensor configured to generate image data indicative of a view from the visualisation device. The monitor device displays a battery indicator indicative of a remaining charge of a rechargeable battery, wherein the battery indicator indicates an expected remaining battery time. In accordance with the visualisation device not being connected to the monitor device, the expected remaining battery time is based on expected power consumption with the visualisation device being connected, and in accordance with the visualisation device being connected to the monitor device, the expected remaining battery time is based on a measured power consumption.
