[Problem] To provide: a photocurable liquid silicone composition that has a low viscosity that allows for easy injection, even into small gaps, has a high refractive index in both the visible and infrared ranges after being cured, and is particularly useful as a material for use in devices that use an infrared LED light source; and a use for the photocurable liquid silicone composition. [Solution] A curable liquid silicone composition that includes (A) (A1) an organosilane or organopolysiloxane that has 1–5 silicon atoms, an alkenyl group, and at least one monovalent functional group selected from among aromatic groups and aralkyl groups and/or (A2) an organopolysiloxane that has 2–5 silicon atoms and an alkenyl group but does not have a monovalent functional group selected from among aromatic groups and aralkyl groups, (C) a compound that has at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms, and (D) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst, the overall refractive index of the liquid composition before curing being at least 1.47, and the overall viscosity of the liquid composition before curing being no more than 500 mPa·s.
