Embodiments describe a method for monitoring a soil-structure interaction for an offshore wind energy installation (10), the method comprising: acquiring data from at least one first sensor (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) located on a structure the wind energy installation (10) is arranged above a water level; Acquisition of data from at least one second sensor (16, 17, 18) which is arranged on a structure of the wind energy installation (10) below the water level; and processing the data from the at least one first and second sensors to distinguish between wind-related loads and wave-related loads on the wind energy installation (10).
