PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve quality of a morphing image.;SOLUTION: A morphing image generation device 1 has: an image acquisition unit 131 that acquires a first captured image and a second capture image; a propagation control unit 132 that makes a plurality of processing layers included in a machine learning model capable of outputting a category of a subject included in an input image on the basis of the input image propagate each of the first captured image and the second captured image; an extraction unit 133 that extracts one or more first captured image outputs and one or more second captured image outputs commonly activating in either processing layer of a rear-stage processing layer and a pre-stage processing layer selected from the plurality of processing layers; a characteristic point detection unit 137 that detects one or more first captured image characteristic points on the basis of the one or more first captured image outputs, and one or more second captured image characteristic points on the basis of the one or more second captured image outputs; and an intermediate image generation unit 139 that generates one or more intermediate images representing a process in which a subject changes step by step on the basis of the one or more first captured image characteristic points and the one or more second captured image characteristic points.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
