Summary: Systems and methods are envisaged to reverse the traditional roles of central devices and peripheral devices in a BLE network. This includes the implementation of an end node (EK) as the sole initiator of a connection between a specific EK and a specific access point (ZP). Such an implementation includes the determination of a location of the EK based on position information for several reference points (RP), which in some cases can be provided by the ZP. The relative positioning is advantageously based in particular on the received signal strengths (ESS) of signal display messages that are sent by the RP and refined by the respective position information.
