To provide a reading method guiding apparatus capable of improving a degree of coincidence of a resultant synthesized image with respect to a document image in generating a synthesized image obtained by synthesizing read images as compared with a case where a reading procedure for reading a document by the reading apparatus is determined in a plurality of times regardless of a feature amount of the document image in a configuration in which a document having a size larger than an area readable by the reading apparatus is read by being divided into a plurality of times by the reading apparatus.SOLUTION: Accepting means of the reading method guiding apparatus accepts a document size which is a size of a document to be read. Acquiring means obtains an image of at least a partial area of the document. Guiding means uses a feature amount obtained from an acquired image and a readable size which is a size of an accepted document size and the area readable by the reading apparatus to guide an operator to a reading procedure when reading the document by the reading apparatus in plural times.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
