TASK ALLOCATION AND SCHEDULING METHODS IN TRANSCODING SERVERS WITH HETEROGENEOUS PROCESSOR FOR VIDEO QUALITY MAXIMIZATION

A task allocation and scheduling technique for maximizing video quality of a transcoding server using heterogeneous processors is disclosed. According to an embodiment, a method performed in a transcoding server configured with a heterogeneous processor includes: receiving a video transcoding request for an encoded image based on a variable bit rate (VBR); predicting transcoding information for allocating a transcoding task according to the received video transcoding request; and determining node information to which a transcoding task is to be assigned and preset option information for transcoding by using a result of the predicted transcoding information.
