An impact insert for an airfoil of a blade / guide vane of a gas turbine is created. The baffle includes a double-walled portion having an outer and an inner wall defining an inner channel on an inner surface of the inner wall, an outer channel on an outer surface of the outer wall, and a central channel between the outer and inner walls. Impingement cooling holes are provided in the outer wall, which use the cooling air of the central channel to expel impingement jets into the outer channel. The impact insert contains at least one suction line, which extends between the outer and inner walls over the central channel and has an inlet on the outer channel and an outlet on the inner channel, for flowing the cooling air after the impact from the outer channel into the inner channel.
