Strawberry cultivation method and strawberry seedling production method for harvesting large fruits

To provide a cultivation method for systematically producing a specially large strawberry at a lower cost and with a lower management burden rather than a conventional method.SOLUTION: A plant which has been planted on a bowl, but not performed floral differentiation yet is subjected to long-day treatment of 16 to 24 hours with night light until a season where a daily average outside temperature reaches 25°C or less and a day length reaches 13 hours or less so as to delay the floral differentiation, which is an opposite treatment to standard seeding. When timing of the condition above has come, the long-day treatment is terminated and the plant is planted on a cultivated field. Thereby, a flower bud grows slower after the floral differentiation, and the number of poor fruits per one strawberry strain increases, resulting in generation of a large strawberry. In addition, since the timing of the floral differentiation is determined dependent on the timing of termination of lighting and thus change in the timing of the floral differentiation due to natural environment condition may be suppressed, thus systematic strawberry production may be realized.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
