In order to play an interactive audiovisual movie, a movie episode data object comprising a plurality of audio/video segments, separate audio tracks and play instructions was stored 51 in the data store of the computerized playback device. The playback device retrieves (52) the playback command, retrieves (S31) and plays (532) the audio/video segment according to the playback command, and plays the audio/video segment while generating an interface element to receive from the user-determined command and search (S31) and play (S32) an additional audio/video segment according to a user-determined command. Playing the end of the first audio/video segment and the beginning of the second audio/video segment played following the first audio/video segment, searching for one more of the split audio tracks (S33) and playing the split audio track without stopping (S33) S34). Thus, the audio track is played non-stop across the boundary of two consecutive audio/video segments.
