The present invention relates to a method for controlling a defect structure in an MFI zeolite separation membrane and a method for separating xylene using an MFI zeolite separation membrane prepared by the method, wherein the organic structure derivative in the separation membrane is removed through firing at low temperature using ozone. The present invention relates to a method for controlling a defect structure in an MFI zeolite membrane to improve xylene isomer separation performance by reducing the amount and size of defects formed in the MFI membrane structure.
