The present invention relates to a resin formulation comprising an unsaturated polyester resin and an anti-contraction additive; a catalyst; a thickening agent; fillers; a phenolic resin; and a wetting agent. It discloses a sheet molding compound (SMC), comprising: a fiber reinforcement and said resin formulation, a part obtained by molding this SMC, and it also discloses a hybrid material comprising a first component obtained by molding this SMC and a second component obtained by over-injecting a EPDM rubber paste on the first component. The invention also relates to parts or elements made from or comprising the hybrid material, suitable for use e.g. in the automotive sector, like exhaust pipe supports or anti-vibration elements for vehicle suspension (shock absorber supports and elastic joints), and the like.
