METHODS, SYSTEMS AND DEVICES FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION BASED ON DIGITAL OFDMA MODULATION SCHEMES

A wireless network comprises several access points with at least paired overlapping wireless coverage, each of the access points having an OFDMA modulation system and at least one channel planner which is coupled to the OFDMA modulation system and is designed to set up a variable number of virtual wireless interfaces of the access point, wherein each virtual wireless interface is assigned to a dedicated set of subcarriers within the OFDMA spectrum. At least a first of the virtual wireless interfaces is designed to host all communication links between the access point and local mobile clients to the access point. At least a second one of the virtual wireless interfaces is designed to host communication links between the access point and one of the neighboring access points.
