To provide a knee airbag device and a method for folding its knee airbag which can effectively protect the knee part of a seated occupant in a front seat upon frontal collision, in such a structure that the height position of the bulge-shaped part of an instrument panel is set on a vehicle upper side above the knee part of the seated occupant.SOLUTION: A vertical wall part 42 is adjacently provided on a vehicle lower side with respect to a lower end part on the vehicle front side of a bulge-shaped part 40 of an instrument panel 12. A knee airbag module 14 including a knee airbag 54 is mounted on the vehicle front side with respect to the vertical wall part 42. The knee airbag 54 of the knee airbag module 14 is supplied with gas to be inflated and deployed toward at least the front side of a knee part N of a seated occupant P in a front seat 30 and the lower side of the bulge-shaped part 40. The knee airbag 54 is set in such a manner that, in its inflated and deployed state, a counter-occupant side base cloth part 76F is arranged adjacently to the vertical wall part 42.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
