A method for controlling engine noise including combustion noise of an engine, comprising: (a) setting a target engine noise value and a target cylinder pressure level value (S100); (b) receiving an engine noise parameter (S110) stored in an engine control unit; (c) determining one Engine noise using the engine noise parameters (S120) measured in step (b); (d) determining a first comparison value by subtracting the determined engine noise or a cylinder pressure level from the engine noise target value or the cylinder pressure level target value (S101); (e) determining a direct combustion noise correlation coefficient, an indirect combustion noise correlation coefficient, a mechanical noise and a flow noise by means of a proportional-integral controller (S130); (f) carrying out a correction of the determined engine noise by using a pilot fuel quantity, a pilot interval s, a main injection timing and an injection amount of an injection pressure which are previously set based on the values determined in step (e) (S140); (g) controlling the engine based on the value determined in step (f) (S150); characterized in that the method further comprises (h) measuring a combustion pressure after step (g) (S160); (i) processing the combustion pressure by means of fast Fourier transform and converting the processed combustion pressure into the cylinder pressure level within a predetermined crank angle after step (g ) (S170); and (j) determining a direct combustion noise of the engine noise after step (h) (S180); wherein the engine noise target value and the pressure level target value are set in step (a) by using an amount of fuel, an engine speed, a switching position, an injection quantity, an intake air temperature and a cooling water temperature, which are provided by the engine control unit; wherein the engine noise is determined in step (c) by adding the direct combustion noise, an indirect combustion noise, the mechanical noise and the flow noise.
