The invention relates to a snow shovel (10) with a base plate (11), made of a metallic material, of wood or of a plastic, and with a handle (12) which is movable in relation to the base plate (11), wherein the handle (12) is coupled to the base plate (11) by a pivot arrangement (13) secured on the base plate (11), wherein the pivot arrangement (13) is a hollow sleeve (14) in which an end of the handle (12) is inserted and is held securely in the hollow sleeve (14) by means of a pivot pin (15) on the base plate, and in which a clamp element (16) allows the hollow sleeve (14) to pivot in one direction or in the opposite direction about the pivot pin (15), said clamp (16) being supported by the hollow sleeve (14); and in which the base plate (11) has a circular cut-out centred on the pivot pin (15) of the hollow sleeve (14).
