The present invention relates to a mutant of the European porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus into which a silent mutation is introduced through codon pair deoptimization at a specific position in the genome and uses thereof. The virus mutant strain provided by the present invention is attenuated compared to the wild-type strain, and the proliferation in the pig body is reduced, so it can be used as a vaccine for preventing European-type porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome.
