Systems and methods include providing an aircraft (100) with a direct drive dual-concentric valve (D3V) (202; 302; 402) having a body (214; 314; 414), an outer secondary spool (212; 312; 412) coaxially located within a bore of the body (214; 314; 414) and linearly displaceable relative to the body (214; 314; 414), an inner primary spool (210; 310; 410) coaxially located within a bore of the secondary spool (212; 312; 412) and linearly displaceable relative to the secondary spool (212; 312; 412) and the body (214; 314; 414), and multiple motor assemblies (204; 304) coupled to the primary spool (210; 310; 410) that provide selective displacement of the primary spool (210; 310; 410) or the secondary spool (212; 312; 412). Each motor assembly (204; 304) includes a clutching mechanism that selectively couples a motor (220; 320) of the motor assembly (204; 304) to and from the primary spool (210; 310; 410).
