A method and apparatus for measuring gamma radiation to check whether or not the regulation of nuclear radioactive waste with various shapes and densities has been lifted is presented. According to an embodiment, a gamma radiation measurement method for confirming whether or not the regulation of nuclear radioactive waste is released includes: measuring a shape by 3D modeling the metallic radioactive waste using a 3D scanner; obtaining a correction coefficient by comparing the 3D data obtained through the 3D scanner with an MCNP computer code; obtaining a measured value by measuring the radioactivity of the metal radioactive waste using a gamma radiation measuring unit; reflecting the correction coefficient obtained through the MCNP computer code in the measurement value obtained through the gamma radiation measurement unit; And it can be made including the step of evaluating whether or not the regulation of nuclear power plant metal radioactive waste is released according to the concentration of radioactivity reflected by the correction factor.
