The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for treating hypertrophic cardiomyopathy comprising cibenzoline, particularly S(-)-cibenzoline or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, as an active ingredient, and a method for treating hypertrophic cardiomyopathy using the same. The therapeutic composition and method according to the present invention treat patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In addition, the composition and method according to the present invention have superior efficacy and safety compared to the existing off-label treatment method.
