DEVICE AND PROCESS MEASURING IRON LOSSES IN A SOFT MAGNETIC SAMPLE SUBJECT TO A ROTATING MAGNETIC FIELD The invention relates to a device for measuring iron losses in a cylindrical sample (11) of soft magnetic material, characterized in that the measuring device comprises: a rotor (41) comprising a shaft (42) extending along it. an axial direction (10), connected to means (44) for driving said shaft (42) in rotation and carrying permanent magnets (43); a stator comprising a non-magnetic armature (20) for holding said sample (11) around said rotor, said armature (20) being mounted so as to be able to rotate around said rotor along an axis which coincides with said axial direction (10); means for measuring the mechanical torque generated by said stator and which results from a magnetic torque generated in said magnetic sample by said iron losses to be measured under the effect of said rotating magnetic field; means for calculating iron losses from said measured mechanical torque.
