To provide a vibration sensor which can be easily installed on a surface of a vibrating body such as pipes and components of a rotation system and can detect a vibration state of the vibrating body without using a weight.SOLUTION: A vibration sensor 10 for detecting vibration of a vibrating body comprises: a vibration transmitting body 3 which is fixed to the vibrating body 5; and a vibration detecting laminate, which is a laminate of a piezoelectric element layer 2 and a vibration absorbing layer 1, with the vibration detecting laminate being such that vibration of the vibrating body is suppressed by the vibration absorbing layer at one surface of the piezoelectric element layer while it is transmitted by the vibration transmitting body at the other surface of the piezoelectric element layer. One surface of the vibration detecting laminate is in contact with the vibrating body or the vibration transmitting body, while the other surface of the laminate is in contact with the vibration transmitting body, with surfaces of the laminate other than these two surfaces being not in contact with the vibration transmitting body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
