The present invention relates to a mobility device for monitoring and rehabilitating walking activity comprising at least one shaft (101); a handle (102, 32) connected to each of the at least one shaft (101); at least one sensor (103, 104) in at least one of the shafts (101) to measure parameters related to the walking activity of a user; and a battery-powered electronic module (105) connected to the at least one sensor (103, 104) to receive and process data from the sensor. The device is suitable for monitoring daily walking activity and/or in rehabilitation after surgery or any kind of lower limb mobility disorders. The parameters assessed by the device provide the means for monitoring the recovery induced by a therapy. It can also be a tool to motivate independent elderly to walk by monitoring and giving them feedback on how much they walk everyday.
