A method of manufacturing a translucent photovoltaic device (1A) is provided herein that comprises:- depositing a stack of layers on a carrier substrate, the stack comprising at least: a first electrode layer, a photovoltaic layer and a second electrode layer;- cutting through the substrate with the stack of layers to form a plurality of laterally disjoint sections (A, B), wherein an amount of material removed by said cutting is at least 10 times smaller than an amount of material remaining in the plurality of sections;- separating the plurality of sections from each other.
