A device for the control of undesirable living beings (56) by electrical current is equipped with a sensor (36) for the automatic detection of an undesirable living being (56) and a high voltage source (68), which is equipped with a first electrode (74),which can be moved into a position adjacent to the undesirable being (56), but supported by it, and which is connected to a second electrode grounded (70), in order to achieve a flow of electricity through the undesirable being (56) through a charge transition over the distance between the first electrode (74) and the living being (56). There are means to increase the conductivity of the air between the first electrode (74) and the living being (56) and a control (36) that is configured to control the means based on the signals of the sensor.
